On Wednesday, March 20, a Shelby Twp.
District Court jury convicted 53-year-old Scott Budnick after a jury trial by
Assistant Prosecutor Lin Goetz.
On Thursday, July 7, 2022, part time
Hamtramck Police Officer Scott Budnick was working as security at Coyote Joes
Bar in Shelby Twp. when he confronted the victim in the entry line. Budnick
believed the victim’s ID to be fraudulent and contacted Hamtramck dispatch and
requested the victim’s information be confirmed through the Law Enforcement
Information Network (LEIN) even though he was not working as a law enforcement
officer at the time. Shelby Township Police and Michigan State Police
investigated the incident and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged
Budnick with Unauthorized Disclosure of LEIN Information (93-day misdemeanor).
On Wednesday, Budnick was convicted in
district court of the 93-day misdemeanor.
Macomb County 41A District Court Judge Douglas Shepherd sentenced
Budnick to nine months probation, $500 in fines and costs and $125 probation oversight fee.

Lucido.
