‘Community Corrections’ examined in OCBA webinar

The Oakland County Bar Association will present “Community Corrections” as a webinar Tuesday, May 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

This interactive webinar will offer an overview of community corrections. It will also discuss pretrial services and bail issues. The mission of Oakland County Community Corrections is to reduce recidivism by providing a continuum of services that adhere to evidence-based principles. The mission of the Pretrial Services unit is to uphold pretrial justice through legal and evidence-based practices. Speaker Eric Schmidt, of Oakland County Government- Community Corrections, will provide an in-depth conversation on the
opportunities they provide. A Q&A will follow the presentation.

Credit has been approved with the OCBA for 1.5 Criminal credit and 1.5 Juvenile credit.

Cost for the webinar is $12 for OCBA members pre-registration and $25 for non-members pre-registration.  Oakland County MIDC court appointed attorneys can attend for free.
