Training looks at ‘Targeting the Right Population’

The Michigan Judicial Institute will present “Targeting the Right Population” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) with a presenter from AllRise on Thursday, July 18, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

This training is for all PSC members. This session reviews the current research literature to help teams select target populations to produce the greatest impacts for the justice system and community. Topics will include target populations, risk and need assessment tools, and how teams can effectively leverage existing community resources to meet the needs of their target populations.

The training will:

• Explain why justice-involved individuals should be assessed for risk and needs.

• Identify the importance of risk and needs assessment tools.

• Identify common characteristics of low- and high-need and low- and high-risk individuals and the kinds of interventions that best meet the different needs of these individuals.

This training does not offer CEU, CLE or MCJE credits.

For registration information, contact PSC@courts.mi.gov.  After registering, participants will receive a separate e-mail with the Zoom credentials, 24-48 hours before the training.
