County, state brownfield redevelopment authorities and programs discussed online

Oakland County Planning, Zoning, and Land Use will conduct a Virtual Planners Gathering on “Brownfields into Green ($$) Fields” Wednesday, July 24, from 11 a.m. to noon via Zoom.

Speakers will provide a down and dirty discussion of brownfield programs at the state, county, and local levels—including what brownfields are (and are not), implications for development and re-development, and the programs that are available to provide reuse incentives and assistance.

Speaking at the program will be:

• Brad Hansen, senior business development representative, Department of Economic Development, Oakland County

• Michelle Bakun, brownfield coordinator, Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, State of Michigan

• Dominic Romano, community development manager, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, State of Michigan
