John David Amey, age 49, pled guilty in Macomb County Circuit Court for failing to pay his child support on his three minor children.
On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, John David Amey was ordered by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Mark Switalski to pay $1,661 a month in child support for his three minor children. In August 2019 the monthly payment was lowered to $880. His last payment was in August of 2022.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged John David Amey with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony. On Monday, Amey pled guilty as charged. He owes $61,922.03 in child support. John David Amey is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, August 1, at 8:30 a.m. by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Switalski.
“The defendant continually neglected his financial responsibilities, leaving his children without the support they are entitled to. We will ensure his obligations to his children are fulfilled," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
