Water Infrastructure 101: library discussions scheduled in Birmingham and Southfield

The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office’s National Association of Counties (NACo) award-winning program, Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” library discussion in partnership with the Baldwin Public Library announces a hybrid discussion event. On Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m., in observance of August as National Water Quality Month, the discussion will focus on water quality, environmental sustainability, green building, and regional cooperation. There will be a question-and-answer opportunity with Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash. The event will be held at 300 West Merrill Street, Birmingham in the lower level of the library. For close to 20 years, National Water Quality Month has been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which designated the month of August in 2005. Continuing the special partnership with area libraries, a discussion will be hosted on Monday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the large meeting room within the Southfield Public Library, located at 26300 Evergreen Road, Southfield. Valuable information regarding the RainSmart Rebates program, upcoming Stormwater Summit, and public education will be shared at the discussion entitled, The Gardening Guru Presents: The Gardening & Nature Series featuring Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash.
