Upcoming water infrastructure library discussion focuses on gardening and nature

Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash is continuing his local partnership with area libraries  by presenting at the Southfield Public Library’s “The Gardening Guru Presents: The Gardening & Nature” series. He is presenting on Monday, Sept. 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The discussion will be held in the large meeting room in the Southfield Public Library located at 26300 Evergreen Road.

Nash will share information regarding invasive species, the RainSmart Rebates pilot program, the upcoming 2024 Regional Stormwater Summit, and garden and nature-specific projects. For additional information call 248-796-4200.

Since 2018, the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office has implemented the program Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” library discussions series in partnership with Oakland County libraries. It continues to be well-received and supported by the library community. This special public awareness effort and collaboration is recognized as a national model and received the NACo 2020 Achievement Award in the library category for being an innovative program.
