The American Bar Association and American University Washington College of Law will host the virtual program, “On the Docket: Looking Ahead at the New Supreme Court Term,” on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. via Zoom. Issues before the Supreme Court this new term includes elections, water quality standards, trans rights, the First Amendment and ghost guns, among others.
The program is sponsored by ABA Division for Public Education, American University Washington College of Law; co-sponsored by the ABA Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice
Panelists for the online program include:

• Gregory G. Garre, partner, Latham & Watkins
• Daniel P. Tokaji, dean, University of Wisconsin Law School
• Abbie L. Vansickle, Supreme Court correspondent, The New York Times
Stephen Wermiel, professor of Practice in Constitutional Law at American University Washington College of Law, will moderate the discussion. He is a longtime observer and commentator on the Supreme Court. As a former Supreme Court reporter for The Wall Street Journal, Wermiel covered Supreme Court decisions and analyzed legal trends for 13 years.
