“Over the last 11 years the Regional Stormwater Summit has brought experts from across Michigan and around the country to help southeast Michigan communities and residents understand the stormwater issues we face today and what will come in the future,” said Nash. “Climate change is bringing more extreme weather and together we must plan and develop both resiliency in our infrastructure and mitigate future environmental damage through developing sustainable energy systems.”
The Regional Stormwater Summit is a southeast Michigan gathering demonstrating the latest technologies, new rules and collaborative efforts surrounding stormwater issues. This day-long event features speakers from across the Great Lakes region presenting on topics such as improving system resilience and funding strategies.

Participants will receive a welcome from Lawrence Technological University President Tarek M. Sobh, listen to remarks from Commissioner Nash and a legislative update from Congresswoman Haley Stevens. Keynote speaker Ryan Winston, Ph.D., P.E., an associate professor at Ohio State University, will speak on the topic “Green Infrastructure to Improve Stormwater Quality and Reduce Runoff in the Great Lakes Region.”
