Center receives grant from bar foundation

Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) is proud to announce it is the recipient of a grant from the Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF) to allow it to grow its legal services department.

OMC’s legal services department began in 2018 with the goal of increasing accessibility to legal representation for all members of the community. Specifically, it aimed to target those individuals who were unable to receive free legal representation for a variety of reasons and those who were unable to afford the hourly rate of traditional representation. OMC works with each and every individual to design representation to fit their needs and budget. Since its inception, OMC’s legal services department has assisted over 2,000 individuals facing legal issues in the areas of eviction, divorce, custody, property disputes, guardianship, and more.

This grant from OCBF will be instrumental in allowing OMC to hire additional staff to serve the increasing number of individuals seeking its services and to continue to expand our outreach throughout Michigan.

For additional information about OMC’s legal services, contact Jessica Notarberardino, supervising attorney, at legalservices@mediation-omc.org.
