Stadium named after Cooley

Thomas M. Cooley Law School President and Dean Don LeDuc (third from left) and Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero (second from right) announced Monday that the downtown Lansing stadium, home to the minor league baseball team the Lansing Lugnuts, will officially be named the Cooley Law School Stadium.  The Lansing Lugnuts and Cooley Law School signed an 11-year sponsorship agreement which mirrors the stadium lease between the team and the City of Lansing.  The new stadium name agreement allows the baseball club and the city to evenly split the sponsorship support, totaling $1,485,000 over the length of the contract.  “We are thrilled to make this long-term investment that will benefit, not only our students and employees, but the entire community and region for years to come,” LeDuc said.  On hand Monday to reveal the logo for the new Cooley Law School Stadium were (left to right) Big Lug, the Lansing Lugnuts mascot; Patrick Day, general manager of the Lansing Lugnuts; and Scott Keith, interim president and CEO of the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority.
