Genisys selected as Business of the Year

Genisys Credit Union was recently selected as the Business of the Year by the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce for their dedication to community outreach programs and successful business practices.

"Auburn Hills is fortunate to have more than 1,000 businesses, global headquarters, international companies and major employers," said James D. McDonald, City of Auburn Hills mayor. "It was no small feat, but Genisys made a compelling case and we are proud to award them with this well-earned award."

Genisys has more than 1.3 billion in assets and is focused on providing their 125,000 members with excellent service through 25 dedicated branches and thousands of surcharge-free ATMs. So far this year, Genisys has paid out more than $239 million in consumer loans and increased vehicle loans by 37.5%.

Based on opinion polls, Genisys has a 96.8% member satisfaction rate and a 96% employee satisfaction rating.

"We strive to exceed the expectations of our members and the community so it's an honor to be chosen as the Auburn Hills' Business of the Year when there are so many deserving companies in the area," said Jackie Buchanan, CEO.

Genisys is also known as a strong community supporter. In 2010, they sponsored over 325 events and volunteered more than 4,000 hours of time in the community.

Part of the organization's community outreach includes financial literacy training, both in the classroom and to the over 15,000 members in their three youth clubs. They are focused on teaching financial responsibility at a young age in hopes of giving youth a $mart $tart and guiding them on the path to financial success.

They also have creative partnerships with AAA of Michigan, Cleary University, Detroit Red Wings, FamilyMint, Invest in America, Liberty Mutual, Palace Sports & Entertainment, Turbo Tax and many more businesses to help members save money.
