Forum to look at future of estate and gift taxes
Miller Canfield will present a Before the Bell Breakfast Forum titled "Pulling Out the Crystal Ball for 2013 and Beyond for Estate and Gift Taxes" on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Even though the election is over, the uncertainty prevails. Discussions at the forum will include:
--Taking advantage of the $5 Million Dollar gift exclusion now.
--The likely estate tax landscape in the future.
--The benefits and use of the portability provisions.
--The proposals to: lengthen the term of GRATs; effectively eliminate the utilization of IDGTs; limit the amount of discounts on transferred properties; limit the duration of dynasty trusts.
Speaking at the program will be Miller Canfield principals Gary R. Glenn and Dawn M. Schluter.
There is no cost to attend. Space is limited to registered representatives, investment advisors, and trust officers. Advance reservations required. To register or for additional information, contact Sandy Bera at 248-267-3345 or bera@millercanfield.com.
