Free training provided

 The State Bar of Michigan Domestic Violence Committee offered free introductory training on how to handle pro bono domestic violence family law cases on Friday, Oct. 26, at Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hill campus.

Among those taking part in the training were (left to right) Lori Pourzan of Legal Services of South Central Michigan; Danielle Carter of Morris, Laing, Evans, Brock, & Kennedy Chtd; Cooley Associate Professor Ashley Lowe, SBM Domestic Violence Committee co-chair; Rebecca Shiemke of Michigan Poverty Law Program; and Jennifer Lamp of Jennifer V Lamp, Attorney At Law PLLC.  

“The training is free to attorneys who are willing to volunteer to take take one case through a legal services provider doing family law services,” noted Lowe.
