Man guilty of murder in party bus shooting

PONTIAC (AP) -- A jury has found a 23-year-old man guilty of murder for a shooting attack on a crowded party bus that killed two people. The Oakland County Circuit Court jury on Tuesday convicted Craig Lewis of Taylor of second-degree murder for the May 13, 2012, attack outside Porky's Bikini Bar in Pontiac. Police say Lewis and 21-year-old Lerrick Myers got in a fight and were ejected from the bar. Police say the men tried to rob the manager as the bar closed, then opened fire on the bus. The gunfire killed two Detroit residents, 28-year-old Anthony Ellis and 19-year-old Shuntrice Sylvester. Myers pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as the trial started. His sentencing is May 30, and Lewis's is June 13. They face up to life in prison. Published: Thu, May 23, 2013
