Man charged in spat must stay off golf courses

PONTIAC (AP) -- A man authorities say attacked another golfer in suburban Detroit during an argument over scoring must continue to stay off area courses. The Oakland Press of Pontiac reports the stipulation that 60-year-old Glenn Lott not step foot on any area golf course is a condition of Oakland County Circuit Judge Rudy Nichols accepting a no contest plea last Friday to aggravated assault. Sentencing is Aug. 16 and the Oakland Township man could face a year in jail. A felonious assault charge is being dropped. Authorities say a fellow golfer was hit across the arm in June with a golf club during an argument at the Westwynd Golf Course in Oakland Township. Investigators say the man also was stabbed in the arm with the jagged edge of the broken club. Published: Tue, Jul 2, 2013
