HUD gives $30M to state housing authorities

DETROIT (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development says it's giving $30 million in grants to 122 public housing authorities in Michigan for large-scale improvement projects. HUD announced the grants last week. They fall under HUD's Capital Fund Program. The Department says the Detroit Housing Commission is getting an $8.5 million grant, while the Flint Housing Commission is getting $1.48 million and the Lansing Housing Commission $1.19 million.
