Teen sentenced in attack recorded on video

HARTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A teenage girl charged in an attack on a fellow Michigan high school student that was recorded on video and posted online has been sentenced to seven days of detention and 100 hours of community service. WHMI-FM and the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell report the girl was sentenced last Friday after earlier accepting a plea deal. The girl had been charged in juvenile court with aggravated assault in the March 12 altercation at Hartland High School. The Livingston County prosecutor's office says the girl entered a guilty plea instead to assault and battery. Police didn't seek charges against a male student who recorded the fight and posted the video. Authorities say the girl who was attacked had a broken nose. Published: Tue, Aug 27, 2013
