Social media focus of Lunch & Learn workshop
The Southeast Chapter of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association (MMLA) will present a Lunch and Learn Social Media Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 12, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Training Room of Hantz Bank, 26200 American Drive in Southfield. The event is sponsored by Hantz Bank.
The presenter will be Dave Sullivan, marketing director at Credit Technologies. Sullivan graduated from Western Michigan University in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in finance. He started in the mortgage industry as a loan officer in 1991. Less than one year later started selling credit reports to Mortgage Companies, Banks and Credit Unions. On September 19, 1997 he started AIR Credit Midwest out of his car. Over the next two years Air Credit Midwest grew to a multimillion dollar company. In 2000 he was approached by one of the largest Credit Reporting Bureau's in the nation to purchase AIR Credit Midwest. He sold it and worked for that company as sales manager of the Michigan and Ohio market for the next ten years. He provides free information on his weekly Video Blog at www.thecreditguy.tv and currently serves on the state board of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association as the membership chair.
According to NAR's 2012 Profile of Home Buyers Research, nine out of 10 houses hunters searched online during the home buying process, with 52 percent choosing that as their first step in the process. Sullivan's presentation will help attendees market home buyers and realtors through the use of social media. His presentation will include ideas for marketing through LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest.
Cost for the workshop is $25 for MMLA members, $35 for non-MMLA members, or free for anyone who joins as a new member of the MMLA for $149 annual dues fee.
Register on-line at www.mmla.net/cde.cfm?event=415712. Reservations made and not cancelled before Sept. 9 must be billed and are non-refundable.
