Man faces jail time for juror questionnaire

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) -- A Michigan man who authorities say wrote profanity and insults on a juror qualification questionnaire has pleaded guilty to criminal contempt. The Bay City Times reports 36-year-old Erick E. Haubenstricker entered the plea this month to the misdemeanor before Bay County Circuit Court Judge Joseph K. Sheeran. He faces up to 93 days behind bars when sentenced on Nov. 4. Court records say the Bay City man on June 30 signed and returned a juror questionnaire form with the word "Pigs" written repeatedly in one box. On the back side of the questionnaire, words were written including: "Untrustworthy pigs. Your system is dirty." The form also had profanity written in several places. Published: Thu, Oct 31, 2013
