Firm expands 'Deal Incubator' to Detroit
Following the recent opening of a location in Detroit's central business district, Hertz Schram in collaboration with local training institute Grand Circus, is expanding its popular "Deal Incubator" into downtown Detroit. Hertz Schram has conducted the popular monthly sessions for more than five years.
Each session is a loosely structured networking and feedback opportunity for business owners, entrepreneurs, financiers, and investors. Moderated by Ken Silver, one of the firm's partners, the environment is one designed to "make business happen," according to Silver, who has worked with the program since it began.
Detroit-based Grand Circus rents co-working space for startups and provides classes to entrepreneurs in a number of areas. As collaborative partners in this effort, their expertise adds value for anyone wanting to get started in business in the city.
"We run a 'deal' incubator, not a business incubator," said Silver. "The idea is to bring entrepreneurs and a diverse group of business people together in an informal setting to foster new relationships and spark potential deals."
The first Detroit edition of the monthly Hertz Schram "Deal Incubator' will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Grand Circus, located at 1570 Woodward Avenue in Detroit. The sessions are free and open to the public.
"We started this in Bloomfield Hills five years ago and given the excitement and entrepreneurial culture in Detroit, the time is right to expand. We have seen real deals and solid relationships built in the past and we expect the same here in Detroit," Silver added.
