Meisner heads to Mackinac to promote investment in county

Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner headed to Mackinac Island for the Detroit Regional Chamber Mackinac Policy Conference this week where he will continue to promote investment in Oakland County downtowns and find innovative ways to fight blight in Oakland County. Meisner will look to build upon his efforts of bringing lending institutions to downtown Pontiac to encourage small business lending, further his work with the Michigan Land Bank to help eliminate blight in the neighborhoods of Pontiac, and work to continue to find the best practices to encourage economic development throughout all of Oakland County.

“The Regional Policy Conference offers a unique opportunity to work with officials from around the state and country to develop ways to spur economic growth and promote the development of our entire region,” said Meisner. “Our investment and blight elimination efforts are merely the beginning in the re-invention of Oakland County’s downtown areas.”

The Detroit Regional Chamber prides itself on regional collaboration and the Mackinac Policy Conference is an effort to connect business, governmental, and civic leaders in an effort to further the economic development of the region and the state as a whole.
