Attracting employees on a shoestring budget to be discussed at ALA event

The Association of Legal Administrators Metropolitan Detroit Chapter (ALA) is conducting a Breakfast Presentation meeting on Wednesday, June 18.

Guest speaker Deborah Voyt will discuss “The New Total Rewards: How to Attract, Retain, and Motivate Employees on a Shoestring Budget.”  The economy is coming back but pay raises continue to be just above cost-of-living. The average raise in base pay is expected to be 2.9% in 2014, up slightly from 2.8% in 2013. With pay increases flat, what total reward strategies can companies use to attract, retain, and motivate employees?

Voyt is founder of Clearwater Compensation Group.  She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received her M.B.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy. She received her PhD from Capella University in May 2011. Voyt is chair of D-SHRM Total Rewards Forum and has been a WorldatWork member since 1999.

The June 18 event will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Westin, 1500 Town Center in  Southfield.  There is no cost to ALA members.  Non-members can attend for $35.

To register, contact Vivian McDonald at mcdonald@millercanfield.com before Friday, June 13.
