Real Property LawSection to host Summer Conference July 16-19
The State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section (RPLS) will host its 2014 summer conference, "Rebuilding the Dream: Michigan Real Estate Revitalized," from Wednesday to Saturday, July 16-19, at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa near Traverse City.
Programs and workshops will cover such topics as "Wonderful World of Construction," "Newer Practitioner," "Corporate Structuring for Real Estate," "Rural Real Estate Challenges," "Drafting Restrictive Covenants and Easements for Commercial and Residential Property," and workshops on purchase agreements and leasing. For the first time, the summer conference will provide an entire educational series geared toward newer practitioners. It will also feature many networking opportunities, including a strolling dinner and casino night.
A special presentation will be given on Saturday morning by Craig Fahle, host of WDET's daily talk show, the "Craig Fahle Show." Fahle covered Detroit's city council and the state capitol for public radio in Michigan before becoming the local anchor for Morning Edition for nine years. He has been hosing the "Craig Fahle Show" since 1997.
The registration fee is $325 for RPLS members who are also first-time attendees, $385 for other RPLS members, and $430 for non-section members. Members of the Young Lawyers Section can register for $100. More information and registration forms can be found on the SBM website at www.michbar.org/realproperty/summerconf.cfm. For additional information contact Karen Schwartz at rplsks@gmail.com.
