Reception to feature retired Administrative Law Judge Roulhac

 The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law will welcome retired Administrative Law Judge Roy Roulhac (‘75) on Tuesday, July 15, for a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. 

Afterwards, a program will take place at 6 p.m. in the Atrium during which Roulhac will speak on the topic “From Busboy to Barrister:  Reflections on Life as a Lawyer, Genealogist, Author, and Administrative Law Judge.” 

Roulhac will discuss his life experiences from serving as a busboy at the Washington Press Club when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the first African-American to speak there, to his time as a student at UDM Law including his role in helping found the Black Law Students Association.  He will also discuss his post-graduate career and his rise as an administrative law judge along with his civic and philanthropic involvement including giving back by establishing a scholarship fund recently at UDM Law after he retired.  He is also the author of “Slave Genealogy of the Roulhac Family:?French Masters &?the Africans They Enslaved.”
