Man who killed two gets no-parole sentences

MASON, Mich. (AP) - A man found guilty but mentally ill in the fatal shootings of two people in East Lansing has been sent to prison with no chance for parole.

Ricard Taylor told an Ingham County judge that he's "profoundly sorry." He's told mental health experts that he believed the victims were morphing into werewolves. They were 27-year-old Jordan Rogers and 35-year-old pharmacist Michael Abdo.

The 35-year-old Taylor says medication has cleared up his mind. The shootings occurred in May 2014.

The Lansing State Journal says a prosecutor read aloud statements from the victim's relatives.

A verdict of guilty but mentally ill qualifies Taylor for mental health care in prison.
