No-parole sentence in death of man's girlfriend

MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) - A Detroit-area man who pleaded no contest to killing his girlfriend and stuffing the body in a barrel expressed regret before he was sentenced to life in prison.

There was no suspense Tuesday about Scott Wobbe's no-parole sentence, which was mandatory.

Theresa DeKeyzer's body was found last September in a drum at a storage site in Plymouth Township. The 22-year-old lived about 30 miles away in Warren and hadn't been seen all summer.

DeKeyzer had filed a domestic violence complaint against Wobbe before she was killed.

The Macomb Daily says about 60 supporters attended the court hearing, many wearing purple shirts with the message, "Justice for Theresa." Her mother and two sisters spoke in court before the sentence was ordered.
