Commissioners to welcome Patterson for special budget presentation

The Oakland County Board of Commissioners announces a special budget presentation by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson during the regular Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 16, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac.

Oakland County residents will have the opportunity to hear Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson present the recommended triennial budget for the new fiscal year. He will recommend general fund budgets and total budgets for fiscal years 2016, 2017 and 2018.

“I am looking forward to hosting our County Executive, L. Brooks Patterson, in order to hear his proposal for the county’s budget. I am anticipating that the spending controls we put in place during the downturn years will now be providing the ability for us to recognize surpluses and invest in our assets, our people and activities for support and grow our business community,” stated Oakland County Board Chairman Michael J. Gingell.

The meeting will be recorded and webcasted by Trenton-based company SoundQue. The public will be able to view the “live” webcast at www.oakgov/boc  or www.oakland.michiganliveevents.com

The nine member Finance Committee is led by Oakland County Commissioner Thomas F.  Middleton (R), who serves as the finance chairperson and includes Commissioner Eileen T.
