AUBURN HILLS (AP) — Authorities say no animals were harmed by a fire at the Oakland County Animal Control & Pet Adoption Center.
The Orion Township fire department was investigating a report of smoke around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when crews spotted flames on the roof of the Auburn Hills facility.
Firefighters from Auburn Hills, Independence Township, Rochester and Rochester Hills also responded along with sheriff’s deputies. The fire was contained to the roof in the back of the building. There was no immediate estimate on the cost of damage.
There also were no reports of people injured in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
