Exhibit focuses on WWII massacre of Soviet Ukraine's Jews

FARMINGTON HILLS (AP) —€”An exhibition focused on the massacre of Jews in Soviet Ukraine during World War II is going on display in suburban Detroit.

“Holocaust by Bullets, Yahad-In Unum —€”10 Years of Investigations” opens to the public today at the Holocaust Memorial Center Zekelman Family Campus in Farmington Hills.

The exhibit is based on the work of French Catholic Priest Patrick Desbois, who canvassed Ukrainian villages on a quest to identify mass graves of Jews shot by Nazi soldiers and their collaborators during the Holocaust. The campaign began after Germany invaded the Soviet Union.

In a statement, Desbois says “it is important for everyone to experience and learn from these crimes because the world is still consumed with the disease of genocide.”

The exhibit runs through Dec. 30.
