A funeral mass is scheduled for today at 11 a.m. for Detroit area attorney Michael J. Lavoie, who died suddenly last Thursday.
The service will take place at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd. in Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at the church will begin at 10:15 a.m.
A longtime attorney with Butzel Long and a former Peace Corps member, Lavoie is survived by his loving wife, Kristin; two daughters, Katie and Melissa Lavoie; and two step-children, Laurel and Elliott Fernandes. He was the brother of George (Carol), Hervey, Raymond (Lynette), Robert (Deborah), and the late Patricia.
