Patriotic flavor

The 4th annual Patrick Henry Dinner took place March 23 at the San Marino Club in Troy, fittingly on the anniversary of the Founding Father’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech. The event drew a record crowd and was presented by the Patriot Week Foundation, according to Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren, who founded Patriot Week activities in 2009 along with his daughter, Leah. “Patriot Week renews America’s spirit by celebrating the First Principles, Founding Fathers and other patriots, vital documents and speeches, and flags that make America the greatest nation in world history,” said Warren. This year’s honorees were Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, Brigadier General Michael McDaniel, and the Penske Corp. Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano served as emcee at the event, while State Sen. Marty Knollenberg and Secretary of State Ruth Johnson also participated in the festivities.
