Video viewing event offers selection of topics

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) will host a Video Viewing Marathon—A Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series Replay on Monday through Friday, Dec. 11-15, at the OCBA offices, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd. in Bloomfield Hills.

This is the OCBA’s annual opportunity for court-appointed counsel to earn last-minute CLE’s.  Check-in will begin at 9:45 a.m. All attendees must arrive within 15 minutes of the beginning of the video in order to receive credit.

Two videos will be shown each day.  Each video is worth one credit for attorneys on the criminal assignment list.  The cost for this video replay is $30 per video for OCBA members and $45 per video for non-OCBA members.

The dates and topics are as follows:

• Monday, Dec. 11: 10 a.m.— Probation Violations & Alternatives a Practitioner Can Get Behind; 11:15 a.m.—The Charging Process.

• Tuesday, Dec. 12:10 a.m.—Polygraph Evidence: Dos and Don’ts; 11:15 a.m.—Criminal Appeals.

• Wednesday, Dec. 13: 10 a.m.—Navigating the Transition from State to Federal Court; 11:15 a.m.—Therapeutic Jurisprudence.

• Thursday, Dec. 14: 10 a.m.—The Art of Private Investigation: A Legal Perspective; 11:15 a.m.—The Art of Private Investigation: An Investigator’s Perspective.

• Friday, Dec. 15: 10 a.m.—Risk Assessment and Psychological Investigation; 11:15 a.m.—A Comprehensive Discussion of DHHS
