Probate Court offering free seminar, March 22

On Thursday, March 22, the Oakland County Probate Court, sponsored by the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts, will be conducting a free seminar titled “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” in conjunction with the City of Farmington Hills Senior Division, from 10 a.m. to noon.  This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process.

The City of Farmington Hills Senior Division is located in the Costick Center at 28600 Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.

The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and will provide useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.

Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, retired Oakland County probate register and attorney with Chalgian and Tripp Law Offices in Southfield; and attorney Michael P. Witzke from McDonald Hopkins PLC in Bloomfield Hills.  Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.

To register for this free seminar, contact the City of Farmington Hills Senior Division at 248-473-1830.

The “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” seminar, developed by the Citizens Alliance for the Probate and Circuit Courts, has reached thousands of citizens over the past 20+ years.
