Seminar to help find success in Business Court

The Oakland County Bar Association’s Business Court and Counsel, Debtor/Creditor, and Employment Law committees will present “Seeking Injunctive and Other Equitable Relief in Business Court” on Wednesday, April 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the OCBA offices in Bloomfield Hills.

Seeking appointment of a receiver, requesting a temporary or preliminary injunction of a restrictive covenant, or seeking another type of equitable relief? Business Court practitioners need to understand how such motions are handled and what can be done to position a client to obtain a favorable result.

A panel of experienced Business Court practitioners will provide their insights and the benefit of their collective experience to help attendees succeed in Business Court.

Speaking on the panel will be Joseph A. Doerr of Doerr Law Firm, Joseph K. Grekin of Schaefer & Weiner PLLC, and Robert Sosin of Alspector, Sosin, & Noveck PLLC; with Jordan S. Bolton of  Clark Hill PLC as moderator.

Topics of discussion will include:

• The law underlying requests for equitable relief.
• Drafting tactics to improve a client's chances of receiving relief.
• Procedural tips and tricks to strengthen an argument in opposition to such a request.

In addition, Oakland County Circuit Court Judges James M. Alexander and Wendy L. Potts will attend to share their insights regarding practice in Business Court.
