New court administrator appointed for district court

Dana O’Neal recently was appointed court administrator of the Oakland County 52-4 District Court in Troy. O’Neal assumed her responsibilities April 16 after the recent retirement of B. Jill Palulian.

O’Neal comes to the court with 22 years of experience working for Oakland County, where she has most recently served as supervisor in the Community Corrections Division. She received her master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University and her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University.

In regard to the appointment, Judge Maureen M. McGinnis said that “Ms. O’Neal exhibits both a high level of professionalism and skill and we feel fortunate to have her as a leader in our organization going forward.”

Presiding Judge Kirsten Nielsen Hartig echoed the comment.

“We are excited to welcome Ms. O’Neal to the court, and feel she possesses all of the desirable qualities and skills needed to carry out the duties of a court administrator and succeed in this new role,” Hartig said.

The 52-4 District Court, which serves the citizens of Troy and Clawson, was established in 1978 and processed approximately 16,300 cases in 2017.
