LANSING (AP) — Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed his spokesman to a Michigan agency that keeps an eye on the state’s judiciary.
Ari Adler’s two-year appointment to the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission is one of many appointments that Snyder is making as his second term nears an end on Jan 1.
Adler isn’t a lawyer. But he’s replacing another non-lawyer: car dealer and Republican fundraiser David Fischer.
The Judicial Tenure Commission is an agency responsible for investigating complaints of misconduct by judges. It has a full-time staff of lawyers who evaluate and investigate
grievances against judges. The nine-member commission recommends discipline to the Michigan Supreme Court.
