Work/life balance explored at conference

The Oakland County Bar Association hosted the biennial Circuit-Probate Court Bench/Bar Conference on Friday, March 1, at Somerset Inn in Troy. The conference, titled “Rude Awakenings: Overcoming the Professionalism, Civility, and Work/Life Balance Crises,” provided judges and attorneys the opportunity to interact outside the courtroom in an informal, solution-oriented environment. State Court Administrator Milton L. Mack Jr. (fourth from left) delivered the keynote address on “The Future of Trial Courts.” Also taking part in the conference were (left to right) Oakland County Probate Court Judge Linda Hallmark; Oakland County Circuit Court Judges Jeffery Matis and Phyllis McMillen; Oakland County Probate Court Chief Judge Kathleen Ryan; Daniel Quick of Dickinson Wright PLLC; Kari Melkonian of Collins, Einhorn, Farrell PC; and Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Shalina Kumar.
