Labor Law Symposium planned for October 17

The 27th annual Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Wayne State University Law School, Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, 471 W. Palmer in Detroit.

This year’s luncheon speaker is Detroit Free Press Columnist John Gallagher. The symposium includes the following sessions: “Changing, Tweaking and Clarifying Union Obligations”; “Rats, Rules and Reevaluations: Current Affairs at the NLRB”; and “USDOL Office of Inspector General, Office of Labor Racketeering and NLRB – Hot Topics.”

The registration fee includes meals and presentation materials. The general registration fee is $100. For students, NLRB staff and government employees, the reduced fee is $35. Seating for the luncheon is limited. Late registrants and walk-ins may not be assured a meal. Registration is required by Oct. 14. Parking will be available for $8.50 (credit and debit cards only) in Structure No. 1 on W. Palmer Ave. across from the Law School. Continuing Legal Education credits for Ohio and Indiana may be applied for at the conference sign-in table.
