Clerk/Register of Deeds Brown holds election training for residents

The Oakland County Elections Division is hosting election worker training on Friday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the L. Brooks Patterson building, East Conference Room, located at 2100 Pontiac Lake Rd. in Waterford. The training is free and open to all.

"I wanted to offer our residents an opportunity to either become certified election workers or just learn more about the processes on election day," said Brown. "Becoming an election worker is a great way to give back to your community and be engaged in the democratic process."

Residents who complete the training will receive a certificate good for two years. Their contact information will then be available to local clerks to hire them to work in the upcoming elections.

Election workers are not required to work in the same municipality they live. For additional information, call 248-858-0564.
