Workers' Compensation/ Social Security Seminar offered by MAJ, Jan. 17

The Michigan Association for Justice will host a Workers’ Compensation/Social Security Seminar on Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Four Points by Sheraton, 27000 S. Karevich Dr. in Novi. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the seminar starts at 9 a.m.

Co-moderators will be William Watkinson, Bernstein & Bernstein PC; Jeffrey Kaufman, Berman & Kaufman PC; Andrea Hamm, Miller Cohen PLC; and Sean Shearer, Charters, Tyler, Zack, & Shearer PC.

Topics to be covered include: legislative developments, state of the Workers’ Compensation Law; traumatic brain injuries and neuropsychological evaluations; view from the Supreme Court with Michigan Supreme Court Justice Megan Cavanagh; national workers’ compensation issues; federal Social Security disability insurance appeals; state Social Security disability insurance of the law; and employment law issues.

Rates to attend (if registered by Jan. 2) are $195 for MAJ members, $100 for MAJ student and paralegel members, $155 for MAJ members practicing 3 years or less, $100 for MAJ sustaining members, $375 for non-MAJ members (includes digital handbook). Registrations received after Jan. 2 will be charged an additional $50 (including sustaining members).
