Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Lisa Brown opens satellite office in Troy

Always working to make her office more accessible, Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Lisa Brown opened a satellite office on Tuesday.

Brown was joined by Oakland County Executive David Coulter, Oakland County Board Chairman David Woodward, and Oakland County Commissioner Penny Luebs at a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the office’s opening.

The new satellite office is located in the South Oakland Office Building at 1151 Crooks Road in Troy. Many services are available, including certified copies of marriage, birth, and death certificates, notary applications, new CPL licenses, and document notarization, all by appointment.

“Accessibility has always been a top priority for me and opening a satellite office is something I have been working on for years,” said Brown. “I am thrilled that it has finally come to fruition.”

“I know this is something Clerk Brown has been passionate about. The population center of Oakland County is closer to the Birmingham/Troy area, so it’s greater accessibility; it's on a bus route, it's so much easier for people to get to than driving way out to the county complex,” said Woodward. “This is great. We're all very excited about this.”

“Even at a time when we're seeing more people go online to do their business and we try to be responsive as a county, we know there are still activities that we need to do in person.

Making it more accessible and easier for our residents to access these services is exactly what we're about in government services,” said Coulter. “I applaud Clerk Brown and her team for this and I hope that residents, especially the residents of south Oakland County, come and take advantage of this wonderful space.”
