'Luncheon Limine' to focus on civil court

The Oakland County Bar Association will hold a “Luncheon Limine: Civil Court” program on Thursday, November 12, from noon to 1 p.m.

“In our continuing efforts to foster collegiality between the Oakland County bench and bar, the OCBA presents ‘Luncheon Limine,’ a brown bag lunch series between judges and attorneys,” said a spokesperson for the OCBA. “Bring your questions (and your lunch) and join us for an informal discussion of legal topics and practice issues.”

The November 12 luncheon program will feature Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Denise Langford Morris. A member of the Circuit Court bench since 1992, Langford Morris has won a host of honors during her distinguished judicial career, including the Champion of Justice Award from the State Bar of Michigan in 2007. A former assistant prosecuting attorney at the county and federal levels, Langford Morris is a founding member of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association and
currently serves on the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Board of Trustees.

The program will take place via Zoom. The event is free, but space is limited. To register, call the OCBA at 248-334-3400 or visit www.ocba.org and click on “events.”
