Chief Justice McCormack to swear in first-ever virtual bar exam graduates

Anyone who has been notified by the Michigan Board of Law Examiners that they passed the state’s first-ever virtual bar exam in July is invited to be sworn in at an online virtual ceremony by Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Bridget M. McCormack, upon a motion presented by State Bar of Michigan President Rob Buchanan.

The ceremony will be conducted via Zoom on Monday, November 30, at 2 p.m. and live-streamed for friends and family members at: www.youtube.com/MichiganCourts

To become a licensed attorney in Michigan, certified bar passers must be sworn in by the court upon a motion of a licensed attorney. Since current conditions do not allow this ceremony to be held in person, it will be held remotely. This swearing-in follows the first-ever online bar examination in Michigan.
