DETROIT (AP) — A former “Survivor” contestant who had to be medivacked after falling into a campfire and burning his hands has been convicted of possessing child pornography.
Michael Skupin, who burned himself during the 2001 series “Survivor II: The Australian Outback” and who returned for “Survivor: Philippines,” was convicted last Friday on four of six child porn possession counts by jurors in Oakland County.
He faces up to four years in prison on each count and is due to be sentenced Dec. 27.
Investigators say they discovered the child porn on Skupin’s laptop while investigating an alleged Ponzi scheme he is accused of orchestrating. He faces financial fraud charges and is due in court this week in that case.
