The Michigan Creditors Bar Association will present its next MCBA Huddle with guest speakers Jesse Roth and Brian Mitzel online Thursday, June 3, beginning at 1 p.m. via Zoom.
MCBA Board Member Greg Dye will welcome back attorneys Jesse Roth and Brian Maitzel of Maddin, Hauser, Roth, & Heller PC for a discussion about the CFPB’s debt collection rules that were issued late last year. The discussion will focus on how the rules create new requirements that go well beyond how courts have interpreted the FDCPA.
Roth is a shareholder and member of Maddin Hauser’s Defense and Appellate Practice Groups. He has multiple wins in the Sixth Circuit over the last year in FDCPA cases, and he and his partner Kate Klaus obtained the dismissal of the FDCPA/COVID cases that were pending in the Eastern District of Michigan.
Mitzel is an associate and member of Maddin Hauser’s Defense and Insurance Coverage Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on a range of issues, including professional liability, employment and general liability. Mitzel also has experience defending FDCPA claims and has obtained multiple dismissals.
