Commissioner elected to serve as second vice president on board

During the Board of Directors meeting, held at Michigan Counties Annual Conference Sept. 26-28, Oakland County Commissioner Eileen T. Kowall (R-White Lake Twp.) was elected to serve as second vice president of the Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) Board.

“The Michigan Association of Counties gives leaders in county government a forum to work together, exchange ideas and discuss issues that we’re facing,” Kowall said. “When we all bring our voices together, we can be more effective in supporting our residents.”

This is Kowall’s second term on the MAC Board. During regional caucuses, she was re-elected as a director for Region 5. She is a member of the organization’s Finance & General Government Committee and its Environment, Natural Resources and Regulatory Affairs Committee.

“I look forward to being deeply involved with MAC,” Kowall said. “It’s a great organization to help advocate for government at the county level.”

Kowall has served on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners from 2003-2008 and from 2015 through the present. She represents county commission District 6, which includes White Lake Township and a portion of Waterford Township.
