'Online & Social Media Investigations' examined

The State Appellate Defender Office and the Criminal Defense Resource Center along with the West Michigan Regional Investigators Association will present a webinar on "Online & Social Media Investigations" Thursday, August 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Social networking has a profound impact on the way the world connects and interacts. Social media sites and online platforms define our everyday lives. Social networking is how people connect, express ideas, make purchases, find jobs, and share their lives with the world. These digital footprints are a goldmine for investigators.

Webinar attendees will explore open source and social media intelligence collection techniques for a few popular apps and online platforms. Attendees will also learn how to locate profiles online, unveil evidence, gather intelligence from accounts, and learn more about subjects using free online techniques.

Speaking at the webinar will be Edward Ajaeb, the founder and president of Nighthawk Strategies, a professional investigation firm in Washington, D.C.
