Event raises funds for charity, scholarship fund

Grilling for Good returned for the 15th Annual Bench Bar Culinary Challenge which took place Thursday, June 6, at the home of retired Judge Lisa Gliecher in Pleasant Ridge.

This annual charitable event is one of a kind in metro Detroit featuring a friendly cook-off between teams from the bench and bar.  Attendees purchased voting tickets at the event to determine the winners.

The lawyers of Grilled By the Hour won this year’s Challenge over the judges of Grilled From the Bench. Voted best dish was the grilled steak crostini with pesto by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Faunce and Macomb County Probate Court Sara Schimke.

The event raised funds to benefit Alternatives For Girls and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation’s scholarship fund.
