The dinner will take place at The New Creation Church, G-3472 Lennon Road in Flint, Township 48507.
There will be a presentation of the Keynote Speaker that will be done by Curtis Watkins. Mr. Watkins in the Director of the Phelps Stokes’ National Homecomers Academy. National Homecomers Academy helps assist individuals who are returning home from prison to have a positive reentry into society.
The Keynote Speaker for the evening will be Dr. Badi Foster, President of Phelps Stokes. Dr. Foster earned his undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Denver. Dr. Foster received his Ph.D in Politics from Princeton University. In November 2000, Dr. Foster was named the seventh president of the Phelps Stokes. Phelps Stokes is America’s oldest organization that helps serve the needs of African Americans, Native Americans and Africans and the urban and rural poor. Phelps Stokes emphasizes unity among different racial and ethnic groups, while maintaining that education for human development as its primary mission.
SPECIAL STUDENT PERFORMANCE:
The children at Motherly Intercession will be doing a special performance for the Annual Dinner.
ORGANIZATION’S POPULATION OF CONCERN:
Since its inception, Motherly Intercession has remained committed to serving the Children of either currently or previously incarcerated parents. They do so by providing them Academic support in Reading, Math and Computer technology, transportation, healthy nutritional meals, positive guidance and life skills training.
Tickets are on sale for $30.00 and donations are welcome.
